Chelsea are believed to battling AC Milan for free agent Brazilian winger Bernard, who is seen as a potential replacement for Willian.
Bernard, 25, is available on a free after his contract with Ukrainian giants Shakhtar Donetsk expired in June.
According to Il Corriere dello Sport, the player wants €3million for the next four or five seasons and his agents are demanding a high commission – something that is currently problematic for Milan and stopping the transfer from going through.
The player himself is keen on a switch to the San Siro, but the fact that nothing has yet been agreed has let the door open for Chelsea to swoop.
It’s claimed as per TuttoSport via La Gazzetta dello Sport that Chelsea are keen on signing Bernand before the window gets shut, who would provide the club’s new head-coach Maurizio Sarri with another brilliant attacking option out wide.
The Italian report also added that the Blues could offer him a even better offer than Milan, if either Manchester United, Real Madrid or Barcelona does end up signing Willian this summer.
Although, Willian recently admitted in a report on Tuesday that he was happy with the club’s new appointment of Maurizio Sarri and is not looking to face the exit door this summer, especially after Antonio Conte’s exit and Sarri’s arrival.
But one can not just depend on this assertions as even great players said more than but in the end, they push for a transfer, like who could ever believed Cristiano Ronaldo’s move to Juventus or Gianluigi Buffon’s move to Paris Saint-Germain this summer and even Neymar leaving Barcelona for PSG last summer.
