According to one of Sky sources via their official site, Chelsea and Brazil U23 winger Kenedy will be set to undergo his medicals with Newcastle United on Tuesday ahead of his season-long move to Rafael Benitez’ side this summer.
Kenedy, 22, joined the St James’ Park outfit for the second half of last season and show some glimpses of impressive performances netting two goals in 13 appearances that helped the Magpies survived relegation.
Although, the 22-year-old returned to Chelsea was present with the rest of the squad at the Cobham Training centre as prepare for the pre-season matches on Monday, but believed to hit the road on Monday evening ahead of his season-long loan to Newcastle.
The winger joined Chelsea three years ago from Brazilian side Fluminense, but has only registered 27 appearances for Chelsea so far.
His move to Chelsea follows after his six goals in eight games for Brazil under-17 as they came third at the South American Championship in Argentina.
Kenedy was originally named as part of the Brazil under-20 squad for the 2015 World Cup in New Zealand, but missed the tournament with appendicitis, being replaced by Malcom as the team ended as runners-up.
Chelsea are yet to make any signing of the summer but are yet getting linked with various acquisitions. The Blues are also yet to resolve their managerial issues with talks about Maurizio Sarri replacing Antonio Conte this summer looks bleak. Conte returning to Chelsea training on Monday has further cast doubts into mind as to whether the Italian gaffer is really leaving the club this summer or not.
