Medicals PASSED ! – All Terms Agreed and £18m’s Fee Agreed – Arsenal announce Sokratis’ deal

According to several reports, Sokratis Papastathopoulos could get announced today at Arsenal’s third signing of the summer as the club prepares to complete his £18m move to Arsenal from Borussia Dortmund

Reports coming from the Daily Star, as cited by the London Evening Standard revealed the defender is set to be announced as Unai Emery’s latest signing for Arsenal today.

The defender has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League for some time now, but it’s believed the deal have been delayed by Dortmund so far.

Reports in Germany claimed that Dortmund wanted to wait until July before finalizing transfer of the defender and it would be the new financial year for the club at the start of the month.

Sokratis will become the latest Arsenal player to have played with Borussia Dortmund before joining the likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Henrikh Mkhitaryan, who joined from Manchester United last season after impressing during his time in the Bundesliga.

A deal has been agreed between the parties involved and all that’s left is an official confirmation from Arsenal regarding the transfer which is believe could be done today.

The 30-year-old defender, who has registed 79 appearances in all outings for Greece, will be Arsenal’s third signing of the summer under Unai Emery.

Papastathopoulos registered 28 appearances for Dortmund last season, having established himself as a regular mainstay in the German’s team. He joined Dortmund in the summer of 2013 after his spells with Weder Bremen, Genoa, AC Milan and AEK Athens.
