Mourinho set to trigger €100m release clause for La Liga ace as “Ashley Young replacement”

Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United have already secured the signing of a young fullback in the form of Diogo Dalot but latest speculations is that the Portuguese manager is considering bringing in another defensive player this summer.

Man United have been linked with the signing of Brazilian international Alex Sandro from Juventus this summer but it’s believed the Serie A champions are demanding a huge £50 million if they are to part ways with their prized asset this summer.

In such a scenario, it’s believed the former Chelsea and Real Madrid boss has turned attention to signing Spanish international and Valencia star Jose Gaya this summer.

Gaya had an impressive campaign with Valencia last season helped them secure promotion for the next season’s Champions League. In registered five assists in 34 league games for last season.

And according to the Daily Mirror, the defender is rated around £30 million after signing a new contract with the La Liga club.

However, one must take not that the player has a huge 100 million euros (£87.8million) release clause in his new deal with Valencia which is due to expire in 2023.

Ashley Young was mainly used in the left-back position last season. And the natural winger who turns 33 in coming months can no longer be regarded as a long-term option so the club will need considering move for a replacement.
