Manchester United improved the quality of their attack with the signing of former Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez in the winter transfer window.
Now, it’s believed the Old Trafford are considering strengthening their attack once again and have been linked with Brazilian international and Chelsea star Willian.
According to the Daily Mail, Jose Mourinho is a long-term admirer of the Brazilian and ready to secure his signing in fee worth 60 million pounds (€68.4million) this summer.
The British tabloid claimed that Mourinho try all he could to sign him from Chelsea in the winter window but Chelsea were not keen on striking out a deal with the Red Devils for Willian.
The Brazilian was a key member of the Portuguese’ team at Chelsea that won the Premier League title back in 2015. However, working under Conte, Willian has mainly been found on the bench.
This past season, he could only register 20 appearances in the Premier League, netting six goals and creating eight assists along the line.
Overall, Willian made 55 appearances but only played 29 matches across all competition for Chelsea, netting 13 goals and providing 12 assists.
Despite this, he earn to the call-up for Brazil team to the World Cup in Russia and started in their opening match against Switzerland in a contest that ended 1-1 on the night.
