It’s been confirmed that Chelsea are ready to hand AS Roma defender Kostas Manolas a mouth-watering £4.4million salary (£84,614.38) on a five-years deal in order to make him their new manager Maurizio Sarri’s first signing of the summer.
Sarri is now “very close” to replacing Antonio Conte at Stamford Bridge after months of speculations and negotiations with Napoli over his move.
And it’s said that that club are making sure Manolas becomes his first signing of the summer, with Sarri strongly keen on strenthening Chelsea’s backline as quickly as possible.
Reports coming from Italy, reveals Chelsea are ready to activate Manolas’ £31.5million release clause having established him as their top defensive transfer target this summer.
Furthermore, Italian news outlet Corriere dello Sport have suggested that the Blues will try and hijack Manolas from Roma’s book with promise of a bumper contract on his wage with Chelsea.
Joining Chelsea would represent the chance of a reunion with his former AS Roma teammate, Antonio Rudiger, who arrived the club last summer.
