According to reports from Italy, Napoli will finally allow reported Chelsea’s replacement for Antonio Conte, Maurizio Sarri join the Blues this summer only if the Premier League club agree not to pursue the signing of their players.
Chelsea have been battling with Napoli chairman Aurelio De Laurentiis, who is believed to been demanding as much as €8million (£6.9m) in compensation that will see Sarri join Chelsea this summer. However, Chelsea are believed not willing to pay as much as demanded for the Italian as they face paying £9m bill as paying off fee for his compatriot.
But now Sport Italia claim Chelsea have been handed a breakthrough in bid to appoint Sarri as their new boss and an “announcement could be on cards” after Chelsea agreed to a rather unusual clause. It’s believed the appointment of Sarri at Stamford Bridge might see him chasing Napoli’s best players in the likes of Elseid Hysaj, Raul Abiol and Piotr Zielinski whose release clauses are modest and affordable.
Although, all three are happy with life in Napoli, and would be key players for the Napples next season under Carlo Ancelotti, but they would be ready to leave Napoli if Sarri does come knocking for them to Chelsea. As such, the Serie A club have asked the Blues to enter into an agreement that such will not happen or even try to sign reported target Kalidou Koulibaly, who does not have a release clause.
Hysaj is said to have a release clause of £44m, Zielinski’s £56m and Albiol has a release of clause of just £5m. Despite negotiations about Sarri joining Chelsea for weeks, De Laurentiis will only accept a small fee if Chelsea agree on the condition of not coming for the signing of their players this summer.
