According to reports, Champions League holders Real Madrid are lining up a sensational £150m bid to sign Chelsea and Belgium international Eden Hazard to replace Cristiano Ronaldo.
Hazard has spent six years with Chelsea winning two Premier League titles, the FA Cup, League Cup and the Europa League which has seen him on the Los Blancos’ radar for a couple of years now.
Ronaldo’s move to Juventus has seen Real Madrid come knocking for the services of Hazard, and are believed set to splash the cash this summer to sign the left-winger, who has two years left to run on his current deal with Chelsea.
Hazard leaving Chelsea would be another great loss for the club since the sale of Diego Costa, but if the move for a player whose abilities is as high as Hazard, is memory at the club would be forgotten in no time.
In light of this, we have highlighted three players Chelsea could move for this summer, should Hazard end his six-year stint with the Blues.
Nabil Fekir (Lyon)
The Olympique Lyonnais could have joined Liverpool this summer had his move not collapsed at the 11th hour due to medicals issues. However, Chelsea could move for Fekir, who was part of the France team that won the World Cup against Croatia on Sunday night.
THe 25-year-old has developed into one of the best Ligue 1 best attackers and was on fire last season netting 23 goals and nine assists in all outings for the Ligue 1 club.
Lorenzo Insigne (Napoli)
Insigne was another high prospect in Serie A last season. The 27-year-old netted 13 goals and with 11 assists for Napoli last season. The Italian is highly credited for his abilities to create chances in tight situation coupled with his strong key passes, and through balls.
Insigne is entering the prime of his career and now could be the time he would need to move to a bigger league. He has worked with Sarri at Napoli and the new Chelsea head-coach could be the man to tempt him into making the move to England this summer.
Iker Muniain (Athletic Bilbao)
Not really a popular figure, but the signing of Iker Muniain would be a wise move in replacing Hazard for Chelsea. Muniain’s career with the La Liga club has stalled in the last couple of years, but with chances of playing alongside the likes of Jorginho, Cesc Fabregas and probably N’Golo Kante – if he doesn’t get sold this summer – he could revitalised his career in England.
