With the transfer up until one month from now, Chelsea are yet to make any signing for the summer and the managerial issue at the club is still up in the air.
According to emerging reports, Chelsea have reportedly received a transfer boost in signing midfielder Jean-Michael Seri this summer after the midfielder was absent from Nice’s pre-season training camp.
The Ivory Coast international has been linked with a move to Chelsea since the past week with his current deal with the Serie A club run until end of next season.
However, report emanating from Sky Sports claims the likes of Chelsea and Fulham have both be handed huge boost in signing the 26-year-old this summer after the midfielder decided not to travel with his Nice teammates for the pre-season camp.
As per reports, the midfielder is believed to have a reported £35m release clause written into his contract which expires on July 15 and he is said to have the preference of making the switch to the Premier League.
The midfielder dubbed “new Xavi” had attracted interest from Barcelona during the last summer transfer window but his move to Spain failed to materialise amid their decision to sign Paulinho from Guangzhou Evergrande instead.
Chelsea are currently in a predicament with their delay in recruiting Maurizio Sarri as their next head coach but they remain optimistic that a deal could be struck before they face Perth Glory in their opening pre-season game.
