Chelsea have now been linked with a potential signing of Sevilla midfielder Steven N’Zonzi, with the Premier League giants reportedly set to enter talks with the France World Cup winner, as reported by the Independent.
N’Zonzi, who came in as an half-time sub for Chelsea’s N’Golo Kante against Croatia at World Cup final, helped his side to in stopping threat from the Croatian in the heart of the midfield.
The £27m rated has seen a turnaround in his career since he left Stoke City in 2015. He revitalised his career since joining Sevilla, where under new Arsenal boss Unai Emery, the Spanish side beat Liverpool to lift the Europa League in 2016.
Despite the Blues acquisition of Napoli midfielder Jorginho last week, Chelsea new boss Maurizio Sarri is set to improving his midfield with more signings.
Steven N'Zonzi had to ask certain players to let N'Golo Kanté hold the #WorldCup trophy because he was too shy to ask & didn't want to impose on anyone. What a ledge!! #UTC pic.twitter.com/G8XswP1Kc2

With the future of N’Golo Kante still up in the air, N’Zonzi would be a wise move by Chelsea in replacing his compatriot should he eventually join Barcelona or Paris Saint-Germain this summer.
Although, it’s believed Premier League rival Arsenal have already opened talks with Sevilla over the possibility of sign the Frenchman this summer, but Chelsea could move in and hijack the Gunners deal to the signing of the midfielder just like they gazzump Manchester City’s to the signing of Jorginho.
The Frenchman had his first stint in England in 2009 with he joined Blackburn Rovers. He registered 86 appearances with the then Premier League side before he would sold to Stoke City when Blackburn got relegated to the Championship in 2012.
