Reports reaching us from the Daily Mail claims Champions League holders Real Madrid have tabled a shocking £100m deal to sign Willian and Thibaut Courtois from Chelsea this summer.
There’s much available to spend for the European champions having sanction the sale of Cristiano Ronaldo to Juventus in a £90m earlier this month.
However, the Los Blancos have been eyeing many alternatives and likes of Neymar, Kylian Mbappe or Eden Hazard have all been linked with the club recently but all their effort in signing this trio have been futile.
Real’s new head-coach Julian Lopetegui’s side have now sensationally turned their keen attentions to signing Chelsea’s Willian as a replacement to Ronaldo this summer.
Willian has heavily been linked with a move to Barcelona but the Catalan giants failed to get him due to Chelsea’s £70m hefty asking price. With Barcelona out of the race to sign Willian this summer, Real Madrid will have to battle Manchester United to the signing of the Brazilian winger.
Manchester United are also in the market for Willian but Maurizio Sarri’s side would prefer to sell the 29-year-old abroad and are now understood to be considering Madrid’s offer.
The La Liga giants could have win the race to Willian’s signing this summer as Chelsea would prefer selling him abroad rather than to strengthening their domestic rival.
Madrid have prepared a £100m fee for signing of both Willian and Chelsea’s first-choice goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois this summer but Chelsea might request for more than £100m with Courtois involved.
The Belgium international has 12 months left to run on his current Chelsea deal and has stalled on signing a new contract for the last year.
Chelsea will reluctantly allow Courtois to join Madrid this summer but must first line up a replacement for the former Atletico Madrid shot-stopper.
