According to report us from BBC via Spanish news pundit for Sky Sports Guilem Balague, this reports are claiming Chelsea striker has agreed to personal terms with Atletico Madrid and a transfer could be on the cards.
Morata has not been able to live up to expectation of many since his move from Real Madrid to Chelsea last summer and he’s only been able to net five goals in 16 Premier League appearances this season for the west London club.
However, there seems to be two hurdles before this deal can be completed as the Sky Sports pundit notes that Chelsea will be looking to find a replacement before any sanctioning any deal that will see Morata leaves the club for Atletico Madrid while the La Liga club as well must sell a striker before any proceedings with Morata’s deal.
Chelsea are reportedly on the verge of completing deal to sign Argentina forward Gonzalo Higuain, who is currently on loan with AC Milan from Juventus, with the Serie A champions, while Balague suggests that Croatia international Nikola Kalinic or Portugal international Gelson Martins could be the odd man out for Diego Simeone’s side.
The 26-year-old Morata joined Chelsea in the summer of 2017 in a club-record £60 million deal from Real Madrid. The Spain international began his career at the Atleti academy in 2005 before his move to Getafe and ultimately move to Real academy in 2008, making his senior debut in 2010.
So far, Morata has been capped 27 times for Spain. He has also spent two seasons in Serie A with Juventus from 2014 to 2016.
