Arsenal.com have confirmed that the clubs have made their fifth summer signing of the window with the acquisition of Matteo Guendouzi.
Everyone had thought the week is only going to be about Lucas Torreira and the announcement of Guendouzi joining the Gunners would be a surprise announcement.
The club, took to their official website to announce the arrival of the young midfielder from Lorient with a high reputation after being courted by a number of major European clubs.
The youngster has registered 30 Ligue 1 appearances for the French club as well as making appearances for various French youth teams.
Unai Emery said of the youngster’s transfer to Arsenal as follows:
“We are delighted Matteo is joining us.
“He is a talented young player and a lot of clubs were interested in him. He has big potential and gained good first-team experience last season with Lorient.
“He wants to learn and improve and will be an important part of our first-team squad.”
One would have thought Arsene Wenger’s exit from the club would signalled the club’s end of making move for young prospect. As per Get French Football News, the French outlet wrote in detail about what the club’s supporters can expect of the midfielder in the coming years and, hopefully, we can expect his move to Arsenal a wise move.
The deal that saw him in Arsenal shit is believed to worth in the region of €8 million and Guendouzi will wear the number 29 shirt.
