Report coming from Italy are claiming Premier League club Chelsea have agreed a club-record £61.7m ($81,864,979.10) for the signing of Juventus’ striker Gonzalo Higuain who’s likely to be Maurizio Sarri first summer transfer.
The Blues current head-coach Antonio Conte is widely expected to face the exit door at Stamford Bridge this summer once his compensation has been agreed and Sarri as been lined up as his replacement following his exit from Napoli earlier in the summer.
And while the Italian has yet to be announced as the Chelsea new manager, he is already working on getting deals done for the club. Report according to Team Talk via Sport Mediaset claims the Blues have agreed a sensational deal to sign Higuain from Juventus’ book this summer.
It’s claimed the Blues will have to sanction around £53m up front with a further £8.7m coming in additional add-ons meaning Higuain’s move to Chelsea would surpass the Blues £58m paid for the signing of Alvaro Morata last summer.
The report adds further that the Argentine has given his verbal agreement to the transfer and all that remains is for the incoming Chelsea boss to sign-off the deal once he’s official unveiled as Chelsea new head-coach.
If this reports bears fruit, the signing of the €148,076.92 (€7.7m yearly) striker would be a wise move for Chelsea as the former Real Madrid striker has been one of the world’s most consistent players in his position in European football over the past decade. In his 556 career appearances, the Argentina international boast of 282 goals.
