Chelsea are reportedly set to sanction the sale of Eden Hazard to Real Madrid this summer only if the La Liga giants will meet their asking price for the Belgium international.
Hazard, who helped his country to a third place finish at the World Cup held in Russia, is said to be keen on an exit from Chelsea and feels the club should allow him leave, but it seems Chelsea are set to stand his way to Real Madrid.
This means Chelsea are holding out for more than £200m for the transfer of the Belgian winger if Real do remain serious about signing him this summer, according to The Times.
The Times reports further that, should Hazard join Real at this price, this would surpass the fee Paris Saint-Germain paid Barcelona for the signing of Brazilian forward Neymar last summer in what still stands as world transfer record move.
Hazard is a world class talented winger who’s just shone on the biggest stage with a superb performance at the World Cup with Belgium.
Chelsea, however, have not been really a selling side with Real Madrid ever since Roman Abramovich era, so it’s either this will happened this summer or not.
However, it seems they’re not about to give up their best player without a fight, and they could pocket huge amounts of cash from his sale that would help repair the damage done to their squad as a result.
