Premier League club Manchester United have been reported to have spark an interest in signing Lyon star Tanguy Ndombele, according to the club’s President.
The Frenchman is said to have placed a value worth £70 million on the midfielder, who put up quite a show throughout the season in all competitions for the Ligue 1 club, amids interests from the Big boys in Europe.
Lyon President Jean-Michel Aulas came out to the media to confirm that he will be willing to sell Frenchman Ndombele, also confirming the two Manchester Clubs in England keen interest but will be very much prefer to sell the midfielder to Juventus.
Speaking to Tuttosport, Aulas said: “It’s true that Juventus are after Ndombele. But there’s also PSG, Manchester United and City. I’d honestly like to see Ndombele at Juventus with [Miralem] Pjanic, a player we launched at Lyon and who I’m still very attached to.
“We’ll see what happens. I won’t talk about money. Economic parameters are the priority when selling players, but I’d like to sell him to [Juve chief] Andrea Agnelli if all the offers were the same.”
Ndombele has been compared to United midfielder Paul Pogba, with Aulas claiming his player is better than his World Cup winner.
Speaking about the comparisons, he said: “Paul was the leading light of a great World Cup with France but, as is normal, he paid a bit for the World Cup this season. Ndombele has been more decisive this season and is more complete for me.”
