Aleksandr Golovin’s CSKA Moscow team-mate Sergey Chepchugov has delivered the biggest hint so far in the window for Chelsea fans which appears to have confirms his compatriot has joined Chelsea.
The Premier League have been strongly linked with the Russian international and Chepchugov’s Instagram post hinted that Golovin is heading to Stamford Bridge.
The 33-year-old post on Instagram congratulated Golovin on sealing a move to a “big club” and wished him well at his new side.
Chelsea new manager Maurizio Sarri said in his first Chelsea press conference that he will consider making some new additions to his new side midfield.
Although, an earlier report from Russia claimed CSKA Moscow’s president Evgeniy Giner warned that the Blues were not ready to sign the £22m-rated midfielder.
Then report from France newspaper L’Equipe reported on Saturday morning claiming the midfielder is set to join Monaco while other sources are suggesting Golovin’s preferred destination is to join Juventus.
The 22-year-old also played in CSKA’s group stage defeats to Manchester United in last season’s Champions League and scored at the Emirates when they lost to Arsenal in the Europa League quarter-finals.
Golovin is a versatile talent who could play anywhere in the midfield. The midfielder scored in Russia’s opening game at the World Cup as they beat Saudi Arabia by 5-0.
He registered four appearances with Russia as they reached the quarter-finals before eventually losing to finalists Croatia on penalties.
