(Official) – Man United response to Zinedine Zidane to Old Trafford reports

Senior officials at Manchester United have denied rumours that they’ve initiated contact with former Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane.

The French manager has been out of work since stepping down at Real in the summer and he has been linked with a number of jobs since then – but most strongly is taking over Jose Mourinho at United.

Following another bad result for Mourinho at the weekend as his side lost 3-1 away to West Ham, report as per beIN sports claimed the Old Trafford club had held initial talks with Zidane about taking over.

Given Zidane’s impressive record of three Champions League final victories in less than three full season with Real Madrid, it’s not surprising that a top club like Manchester United would be interested in his services.

However, well-connected United fan site, The United Stand have tweeted that senior officials at Old Trafford are denying these latest Zidane rumours.

It remains to be seen how much longer Mourinho can last with such poor results and the mood at the club seeming so dour.

  1. Please the board should stop the diplomacy and face the reality with Jose’s saga. The earlier the board wield the axe the better it is for the club. You don’t know the trauma we the fans are going through. You have no idea. Bring in New coach quickly.
