Lille head coach Christophe Galtier had officially confirmed his team’s winger Nicolas Pepe will be parting ways with the club this transfer window, amids the heavily links from England giants.
The 23-year-old, who put up quite the show throughout the 2018/19 Ligue 1 camapign, is heavily linked with a move to the Premier League with the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United all keen on signing the winger.
The Ivorian in his campaign with the French club has helped attain a second place in the league with one game left to play scoring 22 goals and further providing 11 assists in the Ligue 1 this season.
The winger, who joined Lille from Angers back in the summer of 2017 for a reported fee of £8.7million, had been able to register 77 appearances for the French club contributing 35 goals and 17 assist since his arrival.
Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United are not club keen on signing the winger as Lille president Gerard Lopez had formerly confirmed that Spanish giants Barcelona are also in the race to sign him.
The French club have been reported to have placed an asking price of £69 million on Pepe, who is most likely to leave the club this summer. The price tag will not see United back down as they remain keen on signing him to rebuild their team for next season.
Speaking in an interview with Canal+, Lille boss Christophe Galtier said: “Nicolas Pepe will leave. Life’s like that, football’s like that today.
“He is a player of the highest level who will have a big decision to make on the choice of his next club.
“There will be a battle between the great European teams.
“I hope that he will take good amount of time to think about it, do his research.”
