Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has confirmed that key player will be returning before their Champions League semi-final tie against Dutch Ajax on Wednesday.
The North London club are willing to make a major history to reach the Champions League final this campaign but they will have to see out Dutch giant Ajax in the semi-final on Wednesday as they are currently trailing 1-0 in favours of their opponent.
With key stars, Heung-min Son suspended and Harry Kane on the sidelines, not making an appearance for the club in their first leg semi-final tie last week, Jan Vertoghen was also given a concussion in the match and ended up subbed off in the match.
The Belgium international, who is key for the Spurs, will need to be present should a the London club be able to mount a comeback to move on to the final of the Champions League.
Speaking to Football London, Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino took to the media to confirm that the Belgian defender will be making a return in time for the second leg tie on Wednesday night.
“We’ll see, we hope yes. He was training well yesterday, I think he can be available.” the Spurs boss said ahead of the trip to Ajax.”
