Liverpool and Senegal international Sadio Mane has reportedly reached an agreement to join Real Madrid from Liverpool this summer, according to reports coming from France.
Mane, a former Southampton forward, has played a vital role in Jurgen Klopp’s attack this season alongside Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino, netting 20 goals in the Premier League and Champions League this season.
If reports from France Football bears fruit, Mane could be in the Real’s all white shirt for the upcoming season as the tabloid claimed he had agreed terms with the 13th Champions League holders.
However, he’s move to Real Madrid is now reportedly in doubt due to unexpected Zinedine Zidane’s departure from from the club last week.
Mane was lined up to become the Los Blancos’s first marquee arrival this summer but Zidane’s decision to step down as the club’s manager has made things got more complicated.
France Football also claimed the departed Real’s manager had a large input in the club’s decision to push for Mane but following his exit, the transfer is on hold until a new manager has take over. Report also claims that the La Liga giants have not yet agreed a transfer fee with Liverpool for his services.
Madrid’s decision to press on with their efforts to sign the forward now depends on the opinion of the whoever is appointed as Zidane’s successor after or before end of the World Cup.
