Chelsea midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko has arrived in Italy to complete his season-long loan move to Serie A club AC Milan this summer. The 23-year-old midfielder struggled to make an impact in his first season at Stamford Bridge after he was signed from AS Monaco in a reported £40 million last summer.
New Blues head-coach Maurizio Sarri has wealth of options in central midfield and the midfielder has faced increased competition for his place following the arrivals of Jorginho and Mateo Kovacic from Napoli and Real Madrid respectively this summer, plus the return of Ruben Loftus-Cheek after the England season-long loan with Crystal Palace last season.
And now Bakayoko, who stands at 6ft2″ is now on the brink of joining San Siro outfits AC Milan. There have been speculations in Italy claiming that Chelsea and the Serie A club have agreed a season-long loan deal for the signing of Bakayoko, while it’s also believed an option to make his move permanent for €40m (£35.7m) is also added in this clause.
On Sunday, the Frenchman arrived Milan airport and is due to undergo a medical on Monday or Tuesday. He was also linked with a move to Sevilla this summer as a potential replacement for Steven N’Zonzi who was thought to be joining Arsenal this summer. Bakayoko registered 43 appearances in his first season at Stamford Bridge.
