According to the Metro, Liverpool have rubbished reports Sadio Mane has agreed personal terms to join Real Madrid this summer. The Senegalese was linked with a shock move to Madrid by France Football, who claimed the deal for Mane is done and all depends on who becomes Real Madrid manager.
It’s said agreement to sign the Senegalese this summer has been reached before Zinedine Zidane decided to bring an end as the team’s head coach and Real have now cooled the move for Mane until after a new manager is announced.
Mane is a integral part of the Reds’ squad and helped the team to the Champions League final this season, where they met Real Madrid. He saw the net in the final, and was the club’s stand-out performer after Mohamed Salah left the pitch injured.
Liverpool have now taken to their website to replied to pleas for comment by the English press, branding the report from the French outlet as ‘nonsense.’
The Mirror claim Liverpool have no intention of selling Mane and will not allow the forward to exit the club under any circumstance this summer. Liverpool also insist there is no truth to the rumours Mane wants to join Real and has already come to terms with the La Liga giants. Jurgen Klopp would be devastated to lose Mane to Spain, after watching the speedster enjoy an excellent season for the Reds.
Mane bagged 20 goals in 44 appearances and also laid on nine assists for his team-mates. It was the 26-year-old’s best season in England to date as Mane flourished alongside Roberto Firmino and Salah.
