According to reports, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger wants Nabil Fekir in a £45million deal who had also been linked with a potential move to Liverpool.
The Gunners hierarchy has been keeping tabs on the Lyon forward, who has been compared to France legend Youri Djorkaeff.
According to the Daily Mail, the tabloid claims the Frencham wants a deal done before the 24-year-old joins his international team-mates at the World Cup.
Djorkaeff inspired his nation on home soil in 1998 and won the European Championships two years later and Fekir will be hoping to do the same for France in Russia after he finding the net in Lyon’s 3-1 Europa League win over Villareal on Thursday.
Since Alexandre Lacazette joined Arsenal last summer, he has been Arsenal’s star man despite nine goals in 45 appearances for Arsenal so far this season across all competition.
Fekir, however, has upped his striker rate with 16 league goals in just 22 games. And the player has also chipped in with six assists as well as key appearances in Europe – including a penalty against Everton.
Lyon are desperate to keep the player at the club but Arsenal’s move for Lacazette proved they might be open to business at the right price.
The France international is also believed to be Jurgen Klopp’s radar while La Liga giants Barcelona are also keeping tabs on him but reports proved Fekir’s dream move is to join European champions Real Madrid.
Real’s boss Zinedine Zidane when asked about the ambitious ace, he said:
“If tomorrow he calls me, I would never refuse him.
“That’s in the back of my mind too. It’s good that I’m at Lyon today. It’s a very big club.
“But I want to aim for the top. Barca, Real, Bayern, PSG. Why not?
“You have to be ambitious and I am so we’ll see what happens.”
