According to report from The Daily Mail, Glasgow champions Celtic are closing in a £5million plus add-ons deal for Paris Saint-Germain’s striker Odsonne Edouard.
Celtic sealed their second successive domestic treble last week, with a Scottish Cup final win over Motherwell, with Hopps boss Brendan Rodgers continuing with the club’s dominance in Scottish football.
Bhoys, however, are not planning on stopping there though, as they will be in the market for new signings this summer, but one of their top priorities will be to keep hold of loanee Odsonne Edouard.
Edouard, arrived from PSG to Celtic in August 2017, and after a dissapointing season with Toulouse, few fans knew what to expect from the versatile forward.
However, the young French striker ended the season with 11 goals across 29 appearances, and even three goals in his two games against Old Firm rivals Rangers to really become a fan favourite in Scotland.
With superb pace and power, the striker has emerged as the attacker who could replace Moussa Dembele in the Hoops attack, and he should only get better and better under Rodgers’ tutelage.
Now, the pressure is on Celtic to secure Edouard permanently, and the Daily Mail report that the Bhoys are confident a deal will be agreed with PSG imminently.
The move will allegedly be worth £5million plus add-ons, which should take it to a club-record fee for Celtic as they move closer to striking their first summer deal.
