Celtic are interested in securing move for Iranian forward Sardar Azmoun this summer. According to a recent report, the Scottish champions are planning to make a move for the Rubin Kazan striker when the transfer window opens in the summer. The 23-year-old has been dubbed as the ‘Iranian Messi’ and has scored 22 international goals in 30 appearances for the Iranian national team so far in his career.
Azmoun is currently plying his trade at Rubin Kazan in the Russian top-flight and has featured in 25 matches for them this season in all competitions. He has found the back of the net four times while creating six assists for the Russian outfit so far. However, his international record has been mesmerizing and at 23, he has become Iran’s fifth highest goalscorer. The Iranian’s remarkable contributions in front of goal have helped his country qualify for the 2018 FIFA World Cup which kicks off in Russia later this year.
The Hoops could definitely use his services as Brendan Rodgers’ side looks to maintain their dominance in domestic competitions next year. However, they are not the only ones looking to secure Azmoun’s signature, with Everton, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Leicester City and Fulham all keeping tabs on his progress in Russia.
