According to reports, Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri has personally telephone Nabil Fekir over a potential move to London next year.
Sport Witness via The Sun are reporting that the Blues manager is keen to try and lure the 25-year-old Lyon player to Stamford Bridge at the turn of the new year.
It adds further that the Italian gaffer has his sights set on trying to bring Fekir to Chelsea next year and is “concerned” about reported Bayern Munich’s interest in the player.
The report garnered from these sources adds that Sarri called Fekir to assure the midfielder that he would play a key role at Chelsea should he sign for the Blues.
The Frenchman was very linked up with a move to Liverpool this year but his move to the Merseyside failed as a result of reported medicals.
Fekir has made a solid if brilliant start to the new season, netting two goals and making two assists in seven Ligue 1 appearances for the French club.
Also, according to the same story, aside Chelsea and Liverpool, it’s claimed the players is also wanted by “several clubs” across Europe.
Meanwhile, Chelsea FC are currently in third place in the Premier League table and four points behind leaders Manchester City after an unbeaten start to the season in the top flight for Sarri’s men.
The Blues are likely to be linked with a host of players in the coming weeks and months as the January transfer window draws ever closer.
