According to reports coming from Italy, Gianfranco Zola, has reportedly “agreed terms” to re-join Chelsea as Maurizio Sarri’s assistant.
Italian news hub, Corriere della Sera, cited by Sport Witness claimed a deal between Napoli and Chelsea is “very close”, with Chelsea legend set to return to London as part of the club’s new set-up.
The Blues legend is said to have agreed terms to join Chelsea following the World Cup. Zola is currently with a South African TV channel as part of their coverage.
The former Italian forward has always been subject of speculation over a return to Chelsea in some capacity after a disappointing managerial career.
However, Chelsea is said to be in talks with Napoli over a fee for Sarri, who has reportedly agreed terms to replace Antonio Conte this summer.
If reports are anything to go by, it is believed that Chelsea will pay between £4-£5 million to secure the signing of Sarri as their new manager.
Report also claims that Chelsea are still working on deals to sign Raúl Albiol and Elseid Hysaj alongside Sarri this summer.
