Chelsea news boss Maurizio Sarri wants his side to rival Liverpool and Real Madrid to the signing of Brazil goalkeeper Alisson Becker this summer, according to reports.
Becker have developed into one of the most-skilled goalkeeper between the sticks in the world since he joined Serie A club AS Roma in 2016 and is expected to complete a big-money move to Chelsea this summer.
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp, has been well documented to be a huge fan of the goalkeeper and have been linked to signing him so he can serve as competition for Loris Karius after the latter unbearable performance in last month’s Champions League final.
Real Madrid, however, looks to be the leading contendants to sign the €60million rated goalkeeper this summer with reports in Spain claiming he could join the Champions League heroes on a five-year deal. Although, with Chelsea known not be shy in sanctioning huge fee when it comes to signing, the Los Blancos could face strong competition from the Blues.
Chelsea, who beat Manchester United to the FA Cup title last month, are reportedly set to appoint Maurizio Sarri as their new manager taking over from Antonio Conte. Sarri is said to be a huge fan of Alisson and with his contact in Italy, Chelsea could well win the race to his signing.
Although, the Premier League club do have Thibaut Courtois as their current number one but reports in Italy say the Belgian international is not looking to extend his contract with Chelsea which is set to expire next summer.
Courtois spent three years on loan from Chelsea with Atletico Madrid and is said to be keen on return back Spain. Despite winning the FA Cup, Chelsea endured a frustrating campaign, finishing outside of the top four a year after winning the Premier League title.
