As it stands, Antonio Conte is still Chelsea manager for the time being. There have been reports linking Maurizio Sarri to the club as replacement but the Italian is not the Blues manager yet.
Reports in UK and abroad have claimed that Sarri’s move to Chelsea is imminent, with claims and counter-claims from media playing a guessing game in order to try and determine the exact date that he will take charge at the club.
And still, the deal hasn’t been completed yet. Reports coming from Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport are still reporting Sarri will take over the reins of the club from Conte this summer, and in fact, the Italian is expected in London on Monday in order to complete the transfer with Chelsea.
Chelsea fans and followers would need to take this report with a pinch of salt until an official confirmation from the club regarding Sarri’s appointment has been made official.
Elsewhere, the Blues are reportedly set to lock horns with Premier League rival club West Ham United over the signing of Felipe Anderson as they prepare a €30 million bid for the player.
Italian news outlet Il Tempo via Sport Witness claimed that the FA Cup holders are eyeing move for the Brazilian midfielder who is a known admirer of incoming boss Sarri.
West Ham, however, have been heavily linked with the midfielder throughout the summer, but are yet to agree on a fee with Lazio over his signing and with Chelsea now involved, the Hammers would need to back out on his signing this summer.
Although, Chelsea’s seriousness in signing the player has not fully been well documented, with Lazio already demanding closer to €40 million from West Ham, with the latter looking to complete a double deal for Anderson and defender Jordan Lukaku.
