According to new report reaching us, Premier League giants, Arsenal have reportedly submitted a bid for AS Roma winger Cengiz Under.
The winger is a Turkey international and a close pal to Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil. Under is one of the most sought-after players in European football right now, and it’s believed the Gunners’ North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur are also interested in him having seen their initial bid rejected by the Romans.
However, Mauricio Pochettino’s men are believed to be preparing another bid for the winger, but Arsenal looks to have draw first blood by hijacking their rivals move for the 21-year-old wondered.
Italian news outlet Tuttormercatoweb claims Unai Emery’s side have submitted an offer worth around £29million (€32m) for Under, who has scored five goals and created a further five in 19 matches this season.
Arsenal’s opening bid is reported to have been instantly rejected by Roma, who value Under closer to the £45million (€50m) mark.
Furthermore, Roma do not wish to sell Under in January, and they have no need to as progression to the Champions League last 16 has improved their financial situation. Under sealing a big-money move away from Roma next summer is believed to be much more likely.
