Sky Sports CONFIRMS Arsenal wants to agree deal with club for £30mRATED World Cup finalist

Having completed five summer deals this summer, Arsenal are still linked with move for Unai Emery’s former player Steven N’Zonzi this summer. This report broke out few days ago that the Gunners were one of the leading clubs interested in the Frenchman’s signature this summer.

However, Sky Sports‘ reports appears to have Arsenal leading race to sign the Frenchman this summer ahead of the likes of Barcelona, Manchester City and AS Roma.

It’s so surprising seeing Arsenal, who already have in their rank, Granit Xhaka, Mohamed Elneny, Aaron Ramsey, and now Lucas Torreira in this spot, linked with N’Zonzi who reportedly have around £35 million release clause on his current deal with the La Liga’s club.

Emery’s interest in his former still cast doubt in minds as it’s not clear what his intention of signing the Frenchman will implies or whether it’s to sign Nzonzi so Xhaka can play the Ramsey role, while Torreira and N’Zonzi protect the back four and Mesut Özil players on the right side of midfield.

Aside the fact that Arsenal already look well-loaded in the midfield, the signing of N’Zonzi would have to see some of their players face the exit door and in such light, the player who looks to leave the club is likely to be Elneny, who was linked with Leicester City last summer. Another possibility would be Ramsey, which even looks quite possible given the face that he’s yet to sign a new contract with the club.

Every Arsenal fan wants Ramsey to stay. Then with Torreira already confirmed, I don’t see any reason why N’Zonzi should join Arsenal this summer. But in a situation whereby Ramsey fails to agree a new contract, the need to sell and find a replacement which surely arise.

N’Zonzi is current with the France national team at the ongoing World Cup finals in Russia and would be in line to help his side fight Croatia for the trophy on Sunday night in Moscow’s Luzhniki Stadium.
