Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth has delivered latest update regarding Chelsea managerial situation and he claims the club are down to negotiations about compensations.
Antonio Conte’s future at Chelsea is still up in air after leading the club to a fifth place in the Premier League and missed out on Champions League qualification for next season.
In light of this, the Blues have been linked with a move with Napoli boss Maurizio Sarri as Conte’s replacement at Chelsea for many weeks, but the deal has not been finalised.
Chelsea supporters will be hoping to see this situation resolved quickly so that their side can then prepare for the upcoming season.
Speaking to the Transfer Talk podcast, Sheth said:
The Blues are the only team among the top six in the Premier League not to have made any new signings this summer and the Sky Sports reporter has now delivered the latest news on the situation at Stamford Bridge.
“The information we are getting at the moment is it is looking more than likely that Sarri will be taking over at Stamford Bridge.
“Sarri’s representative has been in London. He is trying to finalise a deal. It is all being delayed due to compensation – not just Sarri but Conte as well.”
Chelsea FC ended up in fifth place last season but they did manage to end the campaign on a positive note by beating Manchester United in the FA Cup final.
