Arsenal appears to have completed their third signing of the summer in Borussia Dortmund’s Sokratis Papastathapoulous this summer.
The Gunners new head-coach Unai Emery has strong been keen on reshaping things at the club following a dreadful performance from Arsenal defence last season that shipped in 50 goals.
And after securing moves for likes of Stephan Lichsteiner and Bernd Leno, Arsenal fans can now get ready to welcome third signing to the Emirates in just three days now.
This report is according to Sky Sports football correspondant Darmesh Sheth who revealed that the Gunners deal for Papastathapolous is likely to be confirmed at the start of this coming month due to tax issues.
The journalist, speaking on Sky Sports Transfer Talk podcast via Sport Review said:
“That one is likely to happen on 1 July. Dortmund want to announce it at the start of the new tax quarter in Germany.”
Arsenal missed out on signing Jonny Evans who joined Leicester City earlier this month while their move for Lewis Dunk was rejected.
The Gunners finished outside of the top four for a second time in two season and fans will be hoping the signing of Sokratis Papastathapoulous can help bring back Champions League football to the club this summer.
