Summer Transfer Window 2020: Opening dates and Deadline dates
With the hope of acquiring, signing or bringing in a new player to their team, several European clubs release their chief scouts to the transfer market to help them bring in that player that could potentially strengthen their defence, midfield or attack for the upcoming season. The summer transfer window is where clubs can freely bid on a player they are keen on signing to their respective team as they prepare for the next season.
But when does the summer transfer window opens and its deadline day? This differs not only when it comes to Europe top 5 leagues but also other leagues as well.
Premier League Transfer Window Deadline
The English Premier League transfer window was opened on the day the league was concluded, on Monday, July 27. The transfer window is set to go on for 10 weeks before closing again on the deadline day on Monday, October 5.
There is also going to be an additional transfer window, but will only be available domestically from October 5 and is set to close on October 16. This will only be available for the English Football League, as transfers between Premier League teams will not be happening but can only trade with EFL clubs to loan or sign players permanently.
