Swansea City are reportedly on the verge of getting relegated in the Premier League following their 1-0 defeat against Southampton at the Liberty Stadium on Tuesday night, and following the match Arsenal took to Twitter that the club should consider re-signing former goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski as Petr Cech replacement.
Despite Swansea set for a new life in the Championship, the 33-year-old ex-Arsenal goalkeeper has once again been one the Saint’s most consistent performers in-front of goal.
Fabianski left Arsenal in 2014 having registered 78 appearances across all competition in seven seasons, but he often came under scrutiny for his displays and mistakes.
Since then, Fabianski has matured and improved his performance in south Wales and it would be surprise to see a Premier League club hijacking him from Swansea this summer.
Some among Arsenal fans were asked whether they would welcome back Fabianski – who won the FA Cup with Arsenal in 2014 – this summer with Cech coming under huge criticism for poor performances on Twitter and with second-choice David Ospina out of contract in 12 months’ time, and 59% of them said they would.
Whoever comes in to replace Arsene Wenger, certainly have a lot of work to do defensively to try and make the club top flight challengers again.
Here’s a selection of their reaction on Twitter:
Arsenal should sign Fabianski this summer for cheap. I’d take him back and make him #1

Maybe Arsenal can bring back Fabianski if not Szczesny?

Łukasz Fabiański has become a very stable keeper since leaving Arsenal. Massively improved & hardly makes any mistakes now

I'd take Fabianski back. Man is talented. Left us. Learnt goalkeeping with a proper coach and is now a solid keeper.
