“Terms Agreed”: Chelsea set to announce Serie A’s €36m-rated as 1st summer signing

Reports coming from Italian media are claiming Juventus’ Daniele Rugani could be announced Chelsea’s first signing of the summer transfer window.

The report is according to Corriere dello Sport, via The Metro, that claims Rugani is on the verge of joining Chelsea and he will become the Blues’ first signing of the summer.

The same report adds that the Italy international has accepted an offer from the Premier League club whilst also claiming he could be giving the vacant John Terry’s shirt number.

It’s also reported that the centre-back is one Chelsea’s incoming boss Maurizio Sarri’s top transfer targets while still at Napoli, who is now tipped to take over from Antonio Conte at Stamford Bridge when the World Cup ends in July.

Although, Conte is still reserved as the Blues head-coach but Chelsea are believed to resolve their managerial situation as quickly as possible.

The signing of Rugani, who as €36m release clause in his current deal with Juventus, would see him challenge David Luiz for a starting role in the team next season, but that is whether the Brazilian would remain with the club past this summer.

Chelsea will be competing at the Europa League next season as they ended outside the Premier League top four this past season.
