“The New Steven Gerrard” – Liverpool fans react to $98k-a-wk transfer link with Spurs star

Liverpool have joined the race to sign Tottenham midfielder, Victor Wanyama. The Kenyan midfield mastero have been monitored by Manchester United and Chelsea and both clubs are keen to bringing him to their stadium.

With Liverpool join the race, according to Daily Mail, it wills a battle among top English clubs for his signature. Wanyama, 26 have had limited playing opportunities in Tottenham’s team and has not started a single age for the club since his return to full fitness after his injury in December.

Wanyama has been coming on as a substitute to choke the midfield for Spurs in recent games as that was what happened against Liverpool and Arsenal in which Tottenham did to get four points out of possible six with the help of his goal against Liverpool.

In fact, in all the games he has played for Spurs this season, his performances has been nothing short brilliant. He is however not going to continue to play last 20 minutes of games and will likely take the opportunity to move elsewhere.

Liverpool legend, Steven Gerrard has once described Wanyama as the right player Liverpool need in their midfield at this point in time and if Emre Can eventually leaves, it will make his signing to Anfield a very good one.

His premier league experience makes him a very great option for Liverpool at the end of the season but it is unlikely Tottenham will allow him go that easy. On owning fully well how difficult it is negotiating deals with Daniel Levy’s Tottenham, Liverpool will have to be ready for the challenge and also Spurs manager, Mauricio Pochettino will not want to lose any player at this point in time.

But Liverpool fans have been fantasizing on Twitter about the prospect of Wanyama joining them since the story broke out. It will be interesting to see how the summer goes if he will be making love to Anfield or moving with Spurs to their new White Hart Lane.
