Moussa Dembele has not only been one of Tottenham Hotspur most loyal players but the Belgian midfielder has also established himself as an integral part of the North London club’s team.
Dembele, for the entirety of this past season, partnered brilliantly well with Eric Dier at the heart of the midfield and was very impressive in maintaining consistency and quality. His most recent performance for Tottenham was against Borussia Dortmund, Real Madrid, and Juventus in the Champions League. Although, Mauricio Pochettino can still do with Dembele’s presence at Tottenham, it’s believe contract talks with the midfielder has stalled.
The Belgian, who has registered over 70 caps current with Belgium national team, current deal with Spurs expire next summer, and The Telegraph, claimed the Belgian is on the lookout for a three-year contract extension. However, with Pochettino giving more first-team chances to young players over the years, this might hinder the club’s offering a long-term contract to Dembele.
He is not getting younger. Dembele turns 31 next month. And if Dembele is really considering leaving Tottenham this summer, below are three clubs he should consider joining of which his first-team football chances will be guaranteed.
Dembele has severally been linked with a move to Juventus and he could be guarantee a midfield role playing under Massimiliano Allegri. Joining Juventus might even see him lifting a trophy or two with the Italian champions in the seasons to come as they are one of the best team in Europe to join force with.
Everton are considering move for numerous players under new manager Marco Silva. While the summer transfer is still on its full wing, the Toffees’ midfield is in dire need of reinforcements. And surely an experienced and skilled Dembele would perform wonders playing with the likes of Blaise Matuidi, Juan Cuadrado, Douglas Costa, Miralem Pjanić, and Claudio Marchisio. Dembele plays as an out-and-out midfielder and his excellent “dribbling and passing abilities has seen him ranked one of the best defensive midfielders in the Premier League. The Belgium, however, can also operate as an attacking midfielder making him a great choice for the Merseyside outfit.
With the Chinese Super League proving to be a popular destination in recent years among professional footballers, Dembele could be the latest man to ply his trade in China. Given Dembele’s array of knowledge in midfield, skills and experience, he would be a wise option for Fabio Cannavaro’s side. And, with the Chinese massive high wages for footballers, a move to China could prove to be highly beneficial for the former Fulham man.
