Two Manchester clubs’ battles for Shaktar Donestk midfielder Fred

Since the opening of the January winter transfer window, we’ve seen a lot of signings in the market, with Liverpool selling Philippe Coutinho in a record deal and bringing in Virgil Van Dijk, Manchester United and Arsenal enjoyed a swap deal between them, which brought Alexis Sanchez Sanchez to Old Trafford and Henrikh Mkhitaryan to the Emirates, and the Gunners adding to their squad bringing in Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Borussia Dortmund.

With all that being said, today is the deadline for the transfer window to close shut, which will make speculations and rumours spread fast in the media.

Two Manchester clubs have both been said to be interested in the signing of Brazilian International and Shakhtar Dontesk player Fred this winter and Manchester United now has the upper hand in in a possible transfer for the Brazilian.

Early this January, after being linked with the midfielder, the Red Devils were said to be in competition with Manchester City, who recently spotted an interest in the Brazil player also in hopes to strike a potential transfer deal to land the midfielder at Etihad.

Now, with latest speculations making rounds is that, Manchester now seems to have the upper hand in signing the Brazilian as the Citizens have reportedly drop down their interest after sets of frustrations that have followed.

The prolific midfielder, who has fast pace and skillful won’t have a problem adapting to life in the Premier League. So far this season he has bagged himself just 2 goals and creating another 2 and his contract with the Ukranian club is set to expire in 2023, which made the club value the Brazilian at £50 million.

Rumours was stated that City’s manager Pep Guardiola wants Fred to be the successor of the long term player Fernandinho, but the Citizens have drop interest in the Brazilian.

Meanwhile, Manchester United was not linked to the midfielder for the nothing as they could splash the cash and snatch up the midfielder.
