“Welcome back to Celtic” – Hoops fans reply to €7m latest Instagram post

Ki Sung-yueng has revealed he’s leaving Swansea City following the club’s relegation from the English Premier League, and some Celtic supporters are wondering if he could be tempted back to Scottish football.

The 29-year-old midfielder has spent the last five years in the English top-flight after coming to the attention of British football following his three-year spell with Celtic between 2009 and 2012.

He posted below on his official Instagram Account:

It was a great privilege to play for swansea for 5years. Just want to say thanks to all swansea fans who always gave passionate support to us every single games. Last couple of years personally i felt sorry to the fans about our inconsistent performance on the pitch and really feel frustrated and disappointed about what happened to us today but i believe swansea will come back stronger and will find the philosophy of swansea football club for the fans. Also big Thanks to all my teammates it was a great joy to work with you guys on and off the pitch i wish all the best of luck in the future to everyone once again thanks. #jackarmy #thanks #swansea #myteam #5년간의 #긴여정#고맙습니다

He’s cemented himself as a mature and capable Premier League midfielder during his time with the Swans, which included a season on-loan in the top-flight with Sunderland in 2013.

But after the Welsh club’s meek exit from the Prem after yesterday’s 2-1 defeat at home to Stoke, The €7 million-rated South Korean is now a free transfer, and will undoubtedly have offers from all over the continent – but there’s definitely a few Hoops fans who’d like to see the Ki back in Scotland:

Would Ki fit into the Brendan Rodgers style of play? And would Rodgers be interested in taking him back?

  1. we would only need if Dembele leave and in a scenaria where he remains at the club, I see no reason why we should sign him. Although, he was helpful to the club in many ways before he left.
