Arsenal sixth summer signing Lucas Torreira has finally finished his post-World Cup holiday for his exploits in the tournament with Uruguay and has boarded a plane departing from Uruguay to London to begin pre-season training with his new club.
Torreira joined Arsenal in a £26.4million move from Serie A club Sampdoria a little days after the World Cup begin in Russia and was he was given three weeks off by Arsenal new head-coach for holiday.
At the end of Uruguay’s participation in the World Cup, the midfielder opted not to return back with the rest of the squad, who were treated as heroes after making the quarter-finals, and instead came to London to undergo a medical and agree terms with Arsenal.
He briefly met with his new manager and was captured with some of his new teammates before returning back to Uruguay. After this, however, the midfielder uploaded a picture to his Instagram story clutching his passport as he left behind his family and boarded a plane from Montevideo to London.
The rest of Arsenal team are currently in Singapore but will fly back to England ahead of two more friendlies in Europe and a clash against Chelsea in Dublin and one match against Lazio in Stockholm.
