Why Arsenal should make brilliant £7.2 million winger Emery’s 1st summer signing

Arsenal fans are excited by the club’s appointment of Unai Emery and if the Spanish boss could even go close to emulating the success of former boss Arsene Wenger, the North London club will be in safe hands.

The Emirates outfit ended another season without Champions League qualification and deserved this because there’ve been too many poor performances with the team. In light of this, Arsenal’s defence needs rebirth, then they can acquire a top winger, someone I think should be PSV’s Steven Bergwijn who Transfermarkt rates at £7.2 million.

The Gunners have massively improved their main forward upfront with the signing of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette but the duo desperately need improving. Emery, as seen during his days with Paris Saint-Germain likes and deployed his teams to attack the opposition with pace, and that’s exactly the signing of Bergwijn would bring to Arsenal.

The young Dutchman has been impressive for PSV, netting eight goals and registering 11 assists this season as well. Bergwijn at just 20-years-old, has shown he’s definitely one for the future and if he continues on this same path, there is no reason why he couldn’t be a huge success at a club in like Arsenal.

Although, the Gunners’ main priority and focus appears to be in defence, Bergwijn wouldn’t guarantee them of this but what he does bring is more of an attacking style of play for the team, a player that is capable of dribbling through the opposition players with ease.

The Dutch U21 international isn’t afraid to shoot either judging by his good goalscoring record for a winger. He has the ability to play across the front line and seeing as the North London club may not have a huge budget this summer, the player is one who won’t command a huge fee now but could still be a huge success.
